Investments
Avalon Enterprise and Piren Venture have so far engaged in the following companies and projects.

Neuronano AB
During 2006 Avalon Innovation founded the affiliate Neuronano AB with the idea to develop and commercialize innovative implantable and miniaturized bio sensors/neuro stimulators, based on world leading research within the area.
Through cooperating with Avalon Innovation and Neuronanoscience Research Center (NRC) at the University of Lund Neuronano AB has access to research and expert knowledge within medical technology aimed product development.
The overall goal of Neuronano AB is to develop alternatives or complements for today’s pharmacological treatment of, for instance, long-term pain conditions, Parkinson’s disease and difficult to treat epilepsy, and develop thought-controlled prosthesis’s for paralyzed patients. Furthermore develop the future research instruments for high resolution brain research on memory and learning.
Hitherto Neuronano AB has developed and patents pending on new technology for a number of electrode devices for implant in brain tissue.
Neuronano AB also has developed and has patents pending for new technology for stabilizing body movements caused by brain and heart activity. The technology has a number of clinical applications within areas such as brain and vessel surgery, radiation treatment and picture stabilizing during, for instance, x-ray and electromagnetic camera examinations.

Ikonoskop AB
Ikonoskop AB develops, manufactures and sells professional filming equipment for creative professional filmmakers. The company’s first product was a unique small and price worthy 16 mm analogue film camera (A-cam) which had won design awards, been sold in more than 18 countries and used for documentaries and commercials as well as bigger movies. Its predecessor, the A-cam dII, is currently under development and soon to be launched. It has the possibility to shoot high resolution pictures and store these as uncompressed raw files for digital after process.

Ocean Harvesting Technologies AB
Ocean Harvesting Technologies AB, founded in 2007 in Karlskrona, Sweden, further develops and commercializes an innovation within wave power technology. The concept is based on wave power plants that use the vertical movement of the waves by letting a buoy work against a fixed mooring to the sea floor. A wire goes over a drive wheel, converting the vertical movement into a rotational movement that drives a generator. This method enables energy from waves of varying height to be efficiently extracted without technical limitations in the machinery. Energy is absorbed when the wave rises and a part of the energy is stored in a counter weight that drives the generator when the wave is sinking. This provides the conditions for an exceptionally high grade of utilization of the power plant capacity compared to previous concept, and thereby it also has low investment costs in relation to the production capacity of the plant.
